据清代宫廷档案记载，仿木纹釉始烧于雍正朝，系按皇帝谕旨烧造，虽称为釉，实际属于釉上彩绘品种。拍品鱼浅尺寸巨大，胎体厚重，造型规整，造型、质感均与真正木制器皿酷似，几乎达到瓷木莫辨的境界，内外壁以赭色彩釉描绘木纹，深浅变化的纹理、瘿瘤自然仿真，似以红木精制而成，外壁金漆书写"大清乾隆年制"横款。
