杵原是古代印度的兵器，由於質地堅固，
能擊破各種物質，故稱為金剛杵。
在密教中，金剛杵象徵摧滅煩惱之菩提心，
象徵如來金剛之智慧大用，能破除愚痴妄想的內魔與外道諸魔障。
此件五股金剛杵，以利馬銅精制，摩羯立體而有張力，
口中吐出的側股自然延伸，由粗變細，
如巨龍的利爪般釘入中股，顯示強勁的力道。
杵柄雕刻一周蓮瓣與連珠紋，飽滿規整。
此杵製作工藝精湛，具有較高的歷史藝術價值。
