款识：戊子（1888年）秋仲，阜长任熏写于吴门客次。|钤印：任熏印信 |任熏，字舜琴，又字阜长。任颐、任预均从其习画。人物与其兄同师陈洪绶，常用高古游丝、铁线、行云流水、兰叶几种描法。任熏治学严谨，在写生、临摹上均下了苦功夫。任熏兼工人物、花鸟、山水、肖像、仕女，画法博采众长，面貌多样，富有新意。与任熊、任颐时称“三任”，合任预为“四任”，并为海上画派代表画家之一。
