饶宗颐（1917-2018），治学范围既广而深，于敦煌学、甲骨学、简帛学、诗词学、艺术史学，均有创造性之成就与建树。六十岁后，学术之暇，游心翰墨，书画兴味，日益浓厚。其家人忆述，饶氏平日研究工作繁重，登门问学者众，唯有周日，杜门不出，于画室中恣肆墨戏，家人则从旁拉纸调色。九十岁后，创作力依然旺盛，作品迭出新意，如作油画，又追摹盛唐荷花，有「饶荷」之誉。
