A GRAY SCHIST STATUE OF MAITREYA, KUSHAN PERIOD Ancient region of Gandhara, 4^th to 6^th century AD. Sensitively carved with almond-shaped eyes, prominent nose, and mustache, the protruding brow centered by an urna, the hair pulled back into a topknot secured by a beaded tiara with locks falling over his shoulders. Wearing earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and flowing robes.

Provenance: Austrian private collection.
Condition: Fine condition, overall commensurate with age. Losses and associated old repairs as expected. Extensive wear, weathering and erosion, few structural cracks. Displaying remarkably well.

貴霜帝國灰片岩雕彌勒佛
健陀羅地區，四至六世紀。菩薩留長髮，五官端正俊美，鼻子挺直，眉毛之間有白毫，頭髮梳於腦後，由一頭飾固定，散落在他的肩膀上。身軀強健有力。配戴項飾、臂釧、瓔珞，身披天衣。
