AN INDIAN MINIATURE PAINTING DEPICTING A CHAINED ELEPHANT
India, 18th-19th century. The mighty animal standing foursquare, one front and one hind leg chained to wooden posts, its body tied with rope. The upper margin with a short inscription.
Provenance: From an old German private collection, mostly assembled between the 1960s and 1980s.
Condition: Good condition with wear, creases, tears, small losses, possibly minor touchups. Mounted and framed.
