The cup with a polished gilt relief portait of the king beneath the inscription "50 Jahre Vater seines Volkes." (50 years father of his people). The saucer with the conjoined monogram FAR for Fredericus Augustus Rex beneath the Saxon crown. Born in 1750, the Saxon Prince Frederick August became Elector of Saxony after the reign of his father, who died on 17th December 1763, lasted only 74 days.
