Dessert basket model no. 881. Decorated with flying insects and gilding. Frederick William II ordered an extensive dinner service for his uncle Prince Henry of Prussia in 1791. The form followed a service ordered by Peter von Biron, the Duke of Courland, in the late 1780s. The manufactory s account book describes the service for Prince Heinrich, which encompassed 40 place settings, as follows: "A dinner and dessert service painted with naturalistic wildflowers in colours and small insects, alongside a green border and fully gilded ornaments" (SPSG, KPM-Archiv, Pret. 1, Contobuch 1791 - 1798, fol. 10). The delivery took place on 23rd December 1791.品相: With minor restorations.
