He began his studies with oil painting at Tama Art College in Tokyo in 1947 before continuing his studies in Milan, Italy, and England from 1962 to 1965, and taught at the Bath Academy of Arts. Popular subjects in his works include horses, butterflies, cranes, and girls with long flowing hair.
