Japanese Meiji patinated metal casting of a monk- I believe that this monk brought a Buddhist sect to Japan in the 18th century. Previous owner thought it was a bookend. It does have felt on the back, but the quality and feel of this piece leads me to think that it may have been made for devotion. 6.5" tall, 3 5/8" wide, 2 1/8" deep.
