Japanese Early Edo period or earlier (15thC) Baby Buddha, pointing to heaven and earth as witness of his birth. 3 5/8" tall. I believe the alloy is one that does not darken with age. Quite rare- for such high quality in this diminutive size, for being solid cast metal, for being such an early example in such outstanding condition, for such an exquisite face, and for being such an exquisite near miniature with such spiritual potency. I've never seen another like it.
