Early Southeast Asian bronze drum This type is known in the literature as a "Heger type 1" drum, and is used to classify all of the mainland Southeast Asian drums of this type. Heger Type 1 drums were made between the end of the Dong Son Period (approx 1500- years ago) and the beginning of the modern styles of Frog drums (500 years ago )that are found through out Southeast Asia today. Dimensions: 11" tall x 21" wide (drum only) and 28.5" high on 19th Century antique wooden stand, which has damage and repair and losses not seen in the photo. More photos to come.
