Late 18thC/19thC Tibetan Copper Bodhisattva of compassion plaque with some parts cast out of bronze. Comes with a 19th/early 20thC custom stand. I have sold several other related examples over the past 20+ years. See my other listings for related examples. All of the other related examples I have seen or sold are in one of 2 forms- a 2 arm Buddha or (as in the case of this listing) a 4 arm Bodhisattva of Compassion. All vary slightly in quality, patina, and face, but all almost surely come from the same workshop. I saw 2 very closely related pieces at Sotheby's some time ago- they described them as being 19thC Tibetan, and being leaves of a Mandala. This one is one was cleaned at one time, but is also of the most finely worked examples I have seen. The stand is exquisite (piece sits loosely in base and right now has paper inside to help figure stand properly. Size is 6.5 inches tall, 7.75 inches on included stand.
