Bronze Tripod CenserChina, possibly 17th/18th century,pressed globular form, with two upright loophole handles on the mouth rim, decorated with scattered gilt spots, six-character Xuande mark in relief on the interior, the base with "Neitan Jiaoshe" mark in a square cartouche, ht. 2 1/4, mouth rim dia. 3 1/2 in. Provenance: From the David Drabkin Collection, many of which were loaned to the Yale University Art Gallery for exhibition/research. Mr. Drabkin formed his art collection while residing in many parts of Asia, including Japan, China, and Thailand. His keen interest in Asian art led him to build a close relation with many fellow art collectors, gallery owners, art historians, and art dealers, such as J.J. Lally.
