Description Of senryû-zutsu type. Carved with a mother shishi, who has thrown two young ones off the top of a cliff in order to test their courage and endurance when climbing up again. Signed Sôzan in an oval reserve. According to Henri Joly the ritual shishi no saka otoshi was meant to test the young shishis` vitality. If they survive the fall from the top of a cliff, they were destined to live a long life.尺寸_1: Dimensions Length 19.4 cm出处: Provenance Private collection, Amsterdam
