说明：韦陀， 藏语称「却苏仑」。又称韦陀天，原是古印度婆罗门教的战神，秉性聪慧，以威武勇猛、善走如飞著称。其后被佛教吸收，而成护法诸天之一，位列南方增长天王属下八神将之首。相传在释尊入涅时，有罗刹鬼盗走佛牙舍利，韦陀急追取还。由此佛教便把他作为驱除邪魔，保护佛法的天神，作为寺庙的伽蓝守护神，故此中国寺庙供放韦陀菩萨像时，经常将之安置在大肚弥勒之后方，面对著释迦牟尼佛像及大雄宝殿，护持佛法，护助修行者。造像身躯厚实壮硕，形象威武刚健，尽显刚毅力量。鼻梁挺直，面颊圆腴，相容坚毅而谦恭，目光坚定，眼神深邃，含威不露，使人敬畏。
