说明：焚香自不离铜炉，宋代金石学的兴盛，仿古铜器造型的器物众多，南宋赵希鹄《洞天清禄集·古钟鼎彝器辨》:“古以萧艾达神明而不焚香，故无香炉。今所谓香炉，皆以古人宗庙祭器为之。”故而所制之铜炉大多犹有三代鼎彝之遗意。除如本品之鬲式炉，尚有樽式炉、鼎式炉、簋式炉等，端仪肃穆又融文人之雅洁。
此炉采青铜礼器鬲之形制，几经改良，合裆为腹，去耳平光，盘口束颈，炉腹圆鼓，三足鼎立，且重且稳。铜质精纯，入手沉坠。通体光素，其色倾黄，饱满匀亮，蕴涵金星点点，闪烁如黄金般璀璨之光泽，又较之多一分沉着静穆，令人观而忘俗。包浆圆融，宝光由内而外，光泽熠熠，抚之则清润如凝脂。内膛素里，打磨光滑平整。炉底“宣德”篆书四字款。
