此件古兽钮章，为将军洞石材质。质地纯美无瑕，凝实坠手，实非常品可比。印台平整，仿清初形制，刻卧兽钮。古兽开相、形态、装饰纹及丝毛刻画方面，均效法清制。双目微鼓，亦作瞳仁以求营造视线感。此类形制之祖本，源於清乾隆以前，故而造型雍容华贵，古兽姿态趋於稳重，装饰纹较多。但从线条、肌肉感的塑造看来，此钮承袭旧工形制的基础上，稍作改进，依然保留了当今时代崇尚圆润饱满、保留大块面以体现材质的时风。
