狮子自古被视为瑞兽，其形象还经常出现在佛教的经典文献和佛教造像中，智慧佛文殊菩萨就以狮子为坐骑，其谐音亦寓「子嗣昌盛」、「世代高官」，从而给狮子增添了吉祥的意义。此「双狮戏球」摆件玉质，巧用俏色雕塑造神、型、态栩栩如生的双狮扑咬绣球之状，两狮横卧，蓬头大耳，巨目环睛，身形健硕，毛发卷曲，繁不芜杂，立体饱满，抢夺镂空绣球，身姿骨胳颇具动态，娇憨可爱。整体玉质莹润，造型生动逼真，动态感极佳，为文房陈设佳品。 来源：台湾资深藏家于20世纪80年代购藏至今 虚拙斋——台湾同一私人藏玉（Lots 633-707）
