白玉质，有清冰感，局部含沁带皮。此玉羊呈跪卧状左侧前蹄半立，羊头状若三角向右微侧，口紧闭，双目圆睁，羊角卷曲贴于头后侧，双耳立体而外张，四肢粗实，体态壮硕，有拔地而立之势。羊身整体圆雕，搭配浮雕，线雕的技法雕琢，轮廓简练而细节到位。东汉许慎《说文解字》有载 :「羊，祥也」，汉代是历代玉器发展的巅峰，以羊为题材的作品层出，多呈现雄浑磅礴的时代特征，本玉雕件形神兼备，颇具大汉气韵。
