AN ARCHAISTIC FIRE-GILT COPPER REPOUSSÉ BELT HOOKChina, style of the Tang dynasty - dating to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or slightly later. The belt hook with a wide curving body, and a curved shaft terminating in a small chilong head. The front side decorated with archaistic patterns, mythical animals as well as zoomorphic elements, the concave underside set with a circular knop.Condition: Good condition with some traces of wear and age, rubbing to the gilt, minor dents, and areas of malachite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s.Weight: 124 g Dimensions: Length 12.6 cm
