A KHMER BRONZE FITTING WITH A FIGURE OF A FEMALE DEITY, ANGKOR PERIODKhmer Empire, 11th-13th century. The fitting of tubular form decorated with ribs and terminating in a finial depicting a female deity standing in samabhanga on a conical platform, her hands in anjali mudra at the chest, dressed in a sampot secured with a belt, adorned with beaded jewelry. Her face with almond-shaped eyes, broad nose, pouting lips, elongated earlobes with pendulous earrings, and a tiara in front of a conical-shaped headdress. Fine, naturally grown, solid patina with malachite and azurite encrustation.Provenance: A private collection in Paris, France. LP Collection, Paris, France, acquired from the above. Condition: Good condition overall, commensurate with age and as expected for a bronze from this period.
