此罐直口短颈，丰肩束腹，胫部外撇，下承圈足，釉面紧实青亮，以指叩之，铮铮作响，可见胎质之坚实。
罐通体纹饰以青花绘就，青花色泽青翠艳丽，匠师用分水技法表现出青花色泽与纹饰的层次感，清新明快的色阶变化所产生的韵律美，使瓷绘纹饰获得了恰似中国传统水墨画般水墨画-般鲜明、生动、传神的艺术效果。器身主绘雉鸡牡丹纹，画中花木繁茂，一只雉鸡立于洞石之上，姿态挺拔，描绘精细，画面生机勃勃，极具自然情趣，寓意“富贵吉祥”。构图疏密有致，青花发色明快，造型饱满大方，颇为难能可贵。
