竹根圆雕，刘海面庞饱满圆润，微微侧首，抿嘴斜视下方，俏皮可爱。发丝细腻，分缕披于脑后，丰颡宽颊，身着长袍，左腿屈起，右腿平放，双脚赤露相对，姿态自然生动。全器包浆温润，雕刻刀法纵逸，浑然天成，人物神态跃然而出，细节刻画一丝不苟，为清代早期竹雕佳作。 刘海是全真教北五祖之一。传说曾收服金蟾，令其口吐金钱，四处济贫，故刘海被视为赐福降财的神灵，而金蟾也成为吐宝发财的祥瑞之兽，寓意财源兴旺，幸福美好。
