A SANCAI GLAZED CERAMIC FIGURE OF GUANYIN, 1920sChina, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) – Republic Period (1912-1949). Molded as Guanyin seated on a pedestal, one leg crossed over the knee, holding a lotus flower in her right hand, the head surmounted by an elaborate headdress partly covered by a cowl. Covered in a white glaze with green and ochre details.Condition: Very good condition, minor glaze flaking. Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1970 and has remained in the family ever since.Weight: 937 gDimensions: Height 24 cm
