A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE FIGURE OF A MOUSE, QING DYNASTY
China, 1644-1912. Boldly carved, the recumbent mouse rests on its slender legs, the body slightly twisted to one side, the ears are laid back and its long tail tucked to one side. The finely polished, translucent stone of a celadon tone with cloudy, icy, and russet inclusions and veins.


Provenance:
Boston trade.

Condition:
Very good condition with minor wear and few minuscule nicks here and there. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time. Note the smooth feel of the stone.
