A GRISAILLE-DECORATED ‘WINTER LANDSCAPE’ LANTERN VASE, REPUBLIC PERIOD
China, 1912-1949. The ovoid body supported on a short spreading foot and rising to a waisted neck with an everted rim. Finely painted to the exterior with a continuous scene of a scholar riding a mule along a snowy path surrounded by craggy rockwork and gnarled trees toward a temple complex. The other side with two sages walking across a bridge by a waterfall, all within a vast mountainous landscape.

From a private estate in London, United Kingdom.

Condition:
Old wear and expected firing irregularities, minor rubbing to enamels, a hairline along the body, and drilled to the base with associated losses.

The depiction framed by bands of cash-coins and ruyi-heads at the shoulder as well as key-fret above the foot. The neck similarly decorated with a band of ruyi-heads suspending interlocked tassels.

中國，1912-1949年。器呈直口，短頸，豐肩，筒腹，圈足。瓶身使用墨彩描繪了山水、瀑布、村落景觀，背景群山綿延，水上獨橋，文人歸家。彩料色彩柔和，畫工流暢。燈籠瓶頸部飾有如意紋和串珠流蘇紋；肩部飾有團花紋與如意紋；足部上方飾有雷紋。
