何挺初，1940年生于陶都宜兴。紫砂壶艺人、陶瓷艺人，江苏省工艺美术大师，高级工艺美术师、中国工艺美术学会会员，1956年进宜兴紫砂工艺厂，师从制壶名家吴云根先生。1958年又随名师裴石民先生学艺，从事紫砂工艺制作和创作，其间又得到顾景舟大师的指点
