此作用料颇为特殊，为青海玉料中的烟青，带有淡淡的紫色调，整体墨色匀净，油性亦佳。邱启敬创作的罗汉造型，皆风格独特，或倚松坐石，或晏坐禅定，或阅经论法， 皆高颧深目，形神兼备，罗汉造型颇得厚重古拙之意。此件罗汉亦不例外，作者以立体雕技法雕琢为罗汉造型，着重刻画其面部神态，面部表情尤为夸张动人，具清瘦古拙之美，宛若贯休所绘“十六罗汉图”之罗汉意蕴，风格清奇，独具特色。邱启敬：中国当代艺术家，中国当代玉雕革新派代表人物
