此件如意体形宽长，造型委婉秀美。通体贴制竹黄，纹理细腻，娇黄美艳。如意首、腹、尾分别剔地雕刻卷云纹围绕的蟠桃纹、佛手纹、石榴纹，寓意福禄寿“三多”。并以松树、梅花进行相连处装饰。纹饰繁琐精美，更添古拙之气如意采用贴竹黄工艺，造型自然弯曲，，取竹气节清高之意。如意首巧取竹隔拼镶而成，造型简洁流畅，素雅高洁。竹黄即竹之内皮，浅黄色，色泽光润，类似象牙，又有“文竹”、“贴黄”、“翻黄”等称。它以大型的南竹为材料，将新鲜的竹黄片，经过水煮、晾干、压平等工序，然后贴到各种形状的器物上，再事雕刻。北京故宫博物院就藏有不少乾、嘉时期的竹黄制品，大多是仿制青铜器、瓷器与玉器的观赏器，其精品十分难得。
