杯为竹根雕，撇口，平底。高浮雕海棠花卉及枝干。酒具中以竹为器者多见于明清时期。明代中晚期，盛产竹子的江南地区出现了一批竹艺高手并形成不同的艺术流派和风格，竹刻艺术达到高峰。此时的竹艺制品形制丰富，其中最常见的有酒杯、笔筒、臂搁等。此杯雕工精湛细腻，具有典型的明代中晚期之嘉定派竹雕风格。
