|此竹制鸟笼小巧精致，为竹制，与采用榫卯结构的北方鸟笼不同，是典型的苏州、杭州一带的“南笼”。南笼一般采用栓捆式结构，横竖材相交处是用老牛筋或丝绳拴捆、绑紧的，此件既是如此。鸟笼为正方形，色红褐而有光晕，整观玲珑精美。鸟笼通体以繁复的纹饰装饰，其主要梁架，雕刻以缠枝葫芦，寓意福禄万代，多子多福。笼丝则为竹制，打磨精细，粗细均匀，规矩规整。笼内中部设横枨多柄，为鸟雀落脚之地。笼钩等配件一应俱全，并有也有繁复的缠枝葫芦纹装饰。整件器物雕工精湛，包浆古润，其断非出自集市一般匠人之手，应为大师制作。以次作为闲暇清玩，真雅致非常，彰显养鸟之人悠然快哉的意趣心境。|备注：带挂钩
