Pair Chinese 19 Century Blue-Black Silk Embroidered with Roundel Panels of Butterflies surrounding Lotus Pond Circles and with elaborate deep water bases with waves, spray and numerous Auspicious Objects floating above all in colored satin stitches; probably from a Court Gown now trimmed on 3 sides with deep water borders. Age related wear to satin stitches, a few loose threads and seams. Height 28 inches (71 cm.) X width 21 1/2 inches (54.5 cm.).
