皮箱是明清时期比较流行的家居实用器物，以后用来盛装贵重物品或者是文房用具。由于其携带方便，常用于官员巡视出游之用，故匠师俗称“官皮箱”。此箱以小叶紫檀为料，色泽肃穆。采用经典“顶壶”造型。箱体正门两扇，箱盖有云形拍子与箱体扣合，箱盖掀开为一个方形浅屉，两扇小门后为八具抽屉。两门饰以面叶及鱼形吊牌，外设铜包脚，两侧带提手，下有底座，正面腿里侧饰以壶门式牙条，做工考究。
