罍，为古代盛酒或盛水器，《诗经·卷耳》有云：『我姑酌彼金罍』。《仪礼·少牢馈食礼》有：『司空设罍水于洗东，有枓』，说明罍具有盛酒、盛水的两种用途。古文中与篚连用，指代祭祀。据考证，罍有方形和圆形两种：方形罍宽肩，两耳，有盖；圆形罍大腹，圈足，两耳。罍主要流行于商和西周，本品仿西周早期造型，方形罍直口，斜肩，深腹，外敞式圈足，通体装饰简单，仅器肩以弦纹为隔饰火轮纹，并于中间装饰兽首。两侧铸牛牺首銴耳。宽面近腹部下方，又见一牺首环耳。整器造型规矩，包浆斑驳自然，具大器之美。
