此拍品为减地高浮雕竹面雕刻笔筒，呈直筒形，口沿平切，直腹，下承三足。笔筒包浆润泽，外壁通景刻“渔樵问答”人物故事图案，画面近景为渔夫樵子互答，中景为湖石水波、垂岸细柳，远景为山峦起伏，此画面进深分明，刀工老到，浮雕与阴刻并用，借助竹子天然纹理，有古拙之感。此笔筒题材源自中国传统书画。元代文人画发展，书画为遣兴抒怀之“墨戏”，意在表达脱俗避世、淡迫名利的文人雅士之风。明清时期，在绘画与工艺美术互相影响之下，竹木雕笔筒作为文房活动之用，故其纹饰题材也常带有明清文人画之风。
