A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN 'IMMORTALS' BOWL, KANGXI China, Kangxi period (1662-1722). The deep rounded sides rising from a tall foot to a lobed rim, painted to the interior with a central double circle enclosing an immortal seated on a cloud below a floral diapered band, the exterior molded with lappets enclosing flowers on leafy stems below evenly spaced immortals seated on clouds, the recessed base with an apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark. Condition: Professionally restored condition, good optical appearance, several touchups to the rim and sides, some fritting to the rim. Provenance: From an old family collection in Pressburg, Austrian Empire, Slovakia, and thence by descent to the present owner.
