NINE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN 'MING COURT OFFICIAL' DISHES, KANGXI PERIOD China, Kangxi period (1662-1722). Comprising four smaller and five larger dishes, each with shallow rounded sides, short ring foot, and everted rim, finely painted in underglaze blue to the interior center with a Ming court official wearing a characteristic hat and a long flowing robe and holding a staff, with a circumferential line below the rim to the exterior and interior as well as two above the foot. Condition: Overall good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities, the rims with some fritting and small chips with old repairs. Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a third-generation member of the Holzapfel family after 1995 and has remained in the family ever since.
