AN INTERESTING LOT OF NINE ANCIENT ROCKCRYSTAL BEADS Burma/ Myanmar region, Pyu city states (200-1000 AD). A beautiful lot consisting of nine, quite large, biconical and faceted beads, slightly different in size and carved of translucent rock crystal. Central drilling showing ancient toolmarks. Condition: Good condition with some wear and small notches to exposed areas as well as some natural inclusions. Some reddish soil remainders. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. Istvan Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
