A Chinese Blue and White ‘Hundred Deer’ Vase (Hu) Of archaistic hu-form, raised on a short straight foot, the neck flanked by two stag-head handles, the well rounded sides decorated in underglaze blue with the ‘Hundred Deer’ motif, a continuous scene depicting deer with spotted coats, some grazing, one drinking from a stream among tall pine and rocky peaks in the distance, the glazed base bearing the square seal mark of Qianlong but later.
