An oak transitional chest, mid to late 17th century, having four various long drawers with moulded and mitred fronts, each fitted with a brass deep handle, each decorated with reel and bobbin mouldings, raised on short bracket feet, 102cm wide 54cm deep 98cm high Provenance: Folly Mill, Thaxted, Essex. Condition report: Splits to the top, chest made in two sections with losses to areas around joining lugs, loss to the moulding on the front, particularly the deep middle drawers, feet later replacements.
