Follower of Joos de Momper An extensive open landscape with figures and wagons oil on canvas 61 x 120cm Provenance: Folly Mill, Thaxted, Essex. Condition report: Oil on canvas which has been lined. The canvas is in plane with good tension. The paint layer is in a poor condition with sharp, raised edges following the cracks, mainly in the sky with scattered losses. In the darker paint passages the paint layer is worn and abraded. There is overpaint covering darker cracks and damages. The varnish is clear and semi-glossy. The reverse of the canvas has some mould growth developing and a build up of dust and cobwebs.
