English Naive School, 19th century A three-masted steamer in a harbour oil on panel 41 x 89cm Condition report: Oil on wooden panel. Vertical lines are evident in the paint layers following joins in the panel and supporting batten. The paint has moved along these joins and is slightly raised in texture. The paint layer is in a stable condition overall. There is extensive overpaint in the sky, possibly two campaigns, one which has slightly darkened and become purple in appearance. The varnish layer is semi-matte and slightly yellowed.
