This high relief presumably derives from a series depicting the Passion of Christ. It shows Jesus facing left carrying the Cross as he is pulled forwards on a rope by a soldier with a cloth slung around his hips. The man depicted between the two figures could be interpreted as Saint John. Despite the fragmentary nature of the piece, it remains recognisable as a fine quality and characteristic example of the kind of works produced in the English workshops of the early 15th century.
