祁阳石，湖南省祁阳县特产，祁阳石石质不甚坚硬，温润细腻，多呈紫红色，石色匀净，常见浅绿色石脉。色佳者有山水日月人物之像，尤以紫花者稍胜。大的石料制作屏风，古朴优雅。具有一定的观赏性以及收藏价值、经济价值。
此红木插屏方材圆角攒框，内嵌祁阳石，其上浮雕山水楼阁，白云飞鹤，色泽浓淡变幻，具有山水画特点，与红润木材相得益彰，颇能表现文人审美情趣。整体气息古雅，做工简练，特点鲜明。
