这对掐丝珐琅麒麟造像为铜胎，胎体厚重，鎏金饱满光泽，造型生动活泼，掐丝波浪纹毛发，用纤细的刻纹表现眉、眼和鬃毛，甚为细腻精致，掐丝线条粗细均匀又活泼流畅，釉面光亮，代表了典型的清代宫廷造办处“珐琅作”的最高工艺水准，具有丰富的装饰手段，包括鎏金、镀金、掐丝、内填等技术工艺。器物表面布满鳞片状的绿松石地金属丝网，使用了青金石材料以及红色、黄色、绿色和白色珐琅并与镀金鎏金等工艺巧妙结合，整体色泽明艳。
