书架古称“书格”、“书阁”，其主要功能：一是搁书，二是陈设。书架是典型的文房用品，古代文人书房中除书籍外，尚有笔墨纸砚、竹木角牙等文房清供。为收纳这些雅玩小器，古代书架多在中上部设置两个抽屉，增添了书架结构的完整性、合理性。如此对书架分上下两结构，上部为亮格，下部为对开门柜，中部为抽屉，可存放印章或小件文玩。抽屉涝堂起鼓，面上精雕卷草纹纹饰，中间设铜活儿。亮格部分四面通透，仅在两侧及后面加设横竖直枨作栏杆，与当今明快的气息吻合。下部对开门框嵌独板，光素无纹，内部空间较大，底部嵌刀牙板。整体采用精良的黄花梨制成，色泽沈穆，包浆自然。书架高度约到人之胸际，结构谨严，用材大小比例适宜，予人一种隽秀挺拔的感觉。
