《清宫瓷器档案》明确记载，乾隆二十六年十月初九日杭州织造西宁本身来京进单，（交圆明园）雕漆九龙捧盒贰对。
此类大型龙纹漆盒，存世罕见，本盒造型硕大，雕饰精致繁丽，出类拨萃，就有可能出自宫廷。雕龙双目炯炯，獠牙锋利，神态威猛，龙爪分张利落，龙须飘展；龙身披细麟，穿梭祥云，苍劲矫健。龙游祥云江水波涛之上，威武雄健，气宇万千。
