Pair of Teadust-glazed Water PotsChina, late Qing period, slightlypressed globular form, resting on a bisque foot rim, glazed interior and base, with wood stands, ht. to 2 in. Provenance: A family heirloom collection mostly formed in the 1900-20s by Dr. Frederick Whiting (1821-1946). Dr. Whiting was a philanthropic otologist/professor of Clinical Surgery in Otology at Cornell University who authored the book, Modern Mastoid Operation. He was also known as a collector of American painting, medallic art, and Asian porcelain.
