书柜古称“书格”、“书阁”，其主要功能：一是搁书，二是陈设。书柜是典型的文房用品，古代文人书房中除书籍外，尚有笔墨纸砚、竹木角牙等文房清供。为收纳这些雅玩小器，古代书架多在中上部设置两个抽屉，增添了书架结构的完整性、合理性。此对书柜分上下两结构，上部为亮格，三层均设有券口，边缘起线，并雕有勾连纹。下部为对开门柜，中部为抽屉，可存放印章或小件文玩。抽屉涝堂起鼓，上雕螭龙纹，柜门亦为螭龙纹，下部牙板亦为螭龙纹。此对书柜形制规整，结构谨严，材质上乘，色泽沈穆，包浆自然，隽秀挺拔，文房实用佳器。
